Students who perform well in science and math classes and are interested in careers in clinical health sciences are a good fit for the Bachelor of Science in Public Health. The program is designed to provide flexibility to complete basic and applied science pre-requisite courses for admission to a range of graduate and professional programs, including medical school, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary science, applied health sciences and other STEM disciplines.
The BS in Public Health prepares public health researchers and practitioners for careers in environmental health, addressing the impacts of contaminated water and pollution on environmental health; occupational health, strengthening worker health and safety; and epidemiology, the basic science of public health that tracks and documents disease outbreaks. Graduates are also prepared for community-engaged work in public health settings.
Selectives include courses in biological sciences, chemistry, earth and environmental sciences, kinesiology, mathematics and statistics, physics and advanced public health courses.
