  • Corey Wright, MD, MPH entered the program in 2019 and graduated in 2021. Dr. Wright worked in clinical occupational medicine for a Concentra Medical Center immediately following his residency and currently works for the Veteran’s Administration as an occupational medicine provider. Dr. Wright is board certified in occupational medicine after passing the certifying exam.
  • Kim Hargis, MD, MPH entered the program with advanced standing in 2019 and graduated in 2020 via the Complementary Pathway. Dr. Hargis had previously completed residencies in general surgery and general preventive medicine and public health. After completing the UIC OMRR, she earned board certification in occupational medicine and was previously certified in general preventive medicine and public health. She worked in clinical occupational medicine as the Center Medical Director for a Concentra Medical Center prior to joining the UIC OMR as the Program Director in 2022.
  • Jeffery Weisman MD, MPH, PhD, JD entered the program in 2019 and graduated in 2021. Upon graduation, Dr. Weisman worked in clinical occupational medicine as the Section Chief for Occupational Medicine for the Hampton VA Medical Center and completed a pain management fellowship at Stanford University. Dr Weisman is board certified in occupational medicine and addiction medicine. Dr. Weissman has recently been hired to the OMR faculty. He was a Co-I with Dr. Linda Forst on a poster presented at AOHC 2024, Temporary Staffing, Host Employers, and Exclusive Remedy Protection.
  • Ebenezer Enchia, MD, MPH entered the program in 2019 and graduated in 2021. Dr. Enchia followed the UIC OMR residency with a second residency in family medicine. Dr. Enchia became board certified in occupational medicine after passing the certifying exam. He is currently practicing family medicine and OM.
  • Steven James, MD, MPH, entered the program in 2020 and graduated in 2022. Dr. James has worked as
  • an attending physician for Employee Health Services at Cook County Health in Chicago, as a medical director for Ford Motor Company, and as an occupational medicine provider for Concentra. Dr James is board certified in occupational medicine and recently started working part-time as the head of the OM practice group at UIC, the Occupational Health Service Institute in 2024.
  • Mariko Limpar, MD, MPH entered the program in 2020 and graduated in 2022. Dr. Limpar had previously completed a residency in Family Medicine and is board certified in both Family Medicine and Occupational Medicine. Dr. Limpar worked as an attending physician for Employee Health Services at Cook County Health in Chicago and is currently the interim Medical Director for Employee Health Services for Cook County Health. Dr Limpar is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the EOHS division of the UIC SPH and contributes to the residency program through the Clinical Competency Committee and the Program Evaluation Committee, and by precepting residents at Stroger Hospital EHS.
  • Graham Osborn, MD, MPH entered the program in 2020 and graduated in 2022. Dr. Osborn works for the HPM Corporation US Dept of Energy as an occupational medicine physician. He is board certified in OM.
  • Jaeyeong Heo, MD, MPH entered the program in 2021 and graduated in 2023. Dr. Heo has been working for the Veteran’s Administration and is board certified in occupational medicine.
  • Charles Childers, MD, MPH entered the program in 2021 and graduated in 2023. Dr Childers unfortunately passed away in the first year following graduation, while he was working as an OM physician for Concentra.
  • Tuongvi Nguyen, MD, MPH entered the program in 2021 and graduated in 2024. Dr, Nguyen took a leave of absence to complete her MPH from John Hopkins University. Following graduation, Dr. Nguyne has accepted a position as an attending physician for Employee Health Services at Cook County Health.
  • John Cooper, MD, MPH entered the program in 2022 and graduated in 2024. Dr. Cooper came to our program with clinical experience in emergency medicine and an interest to return to his rural community. Dr. Cooper is currently working as an emergency medicine physician and his goal is to build an occupational medicine practice near his home in Arkansas. Board certification results are pending.
  • Fatima Zitouni, MD, MPH entered the program in 2022 and graduated in 2024. Dr Zitouni works for Concentra in the Chicago area as an occupational medicine physician. Board certification results are pending.
  • Joel Fink, MD, MPH entered the program in 2022 and graduated in 2024. Dr. Fink works as a medical director for an occupational medicine clinic in Oregon. Board certification results are pending.
  • Laura Chung, MD, MPH, JD entered the program in 2023 and is currently on maternity leave. She presented a poster at the 2024 AOHC conference: Manganese Neurotoxicity in Stainless-Steel Welders and Appropriate Biomarker Selection.
  • Arooj Muhammed, MD, MPH entered the program in 2022 and is currently a fellow in the Clinical Pharmacology program at the U of Chicago. He co-authored a poster presented at AOHC 2025 titled, “Chronic Abdominal Pain and Diarrhea Associated with Unfiltered Tap Water in a Patient with Autoimmune Conditions”
