Community Health Practice and Methods
About the Concentration Heading link
This concentration allows students to choose from the broad spectrum of courses in Community Health Sciences, enabling students to develop the most appropriate skill set for their long term goals. Community Health Practice and Methods is the default concentration for students completing the Master of Public Health in Community Health Sciences. Courses may address:
- research methodologies most applicable to community health concerns
- specific populations of public health interest, with a focus on marginalized populations
- interventions strategies to address public health problems at the community level
Concentration Requirements Heading link
Students complete the concentration in Community Health Practice & Methods by taking any 9 SH of CHSC electives.
Other Curricula Heading link
Other concentrations in the division of community health sciences require a separate application, including maternal and child health and maternal and child health epidemiology.
Interested students are encouraged to pursue the Certificate in Global Public Health in addition to their CHS concentration.
