Public health touches every corner of our lives. From clean water to flu shots to healthy teeth, public health makes a difference in our homes and communities. The UIC School of Public Health is dedicated to excellence in protecting and improving the health and well-being of the people of the metropolitan Chicago area, the State of Illinois and the nation, and of others throughout the world every day of the year, but especially during National Public Health Week (NPHW).

Marking its 30th Anniversary, NPHW–an initiative of the American Public Health Association–recognizes public health contributions and addresses key health issues. This year, programs and events will focus on the theme of It Starts Here: Your Health Is Our Mission. Join us and communities around the world to mark NPHW and learn more about key themes guiding the week here.
