About the Concentration

Students electing the Cancer Epidemiology concentration must complete the School-Wide Course Requirements as well as 35 semester credit hours of the following concentration courses.

  • BSTT 400 – Biostatistics I (4 semester hours)
  • EPID 403 – Introduction to Epidemiology: Principles and Methods (3 semester hours)
  • IPHS 520 – Foundations of Public Health (3 semester hours)
  • IPHS 598 – Research in the Public Health Sciences – MS (8 semester hours)

Divisional Core (16 - 17 semester hours)

Required courses:

  • EPID 404 – Intermediate Epidemiologic Methods (4 semester hours)
  • EPID 406 – Epidemiologic Computing (3 semester hours)

Elective Courses (11 - 12 semester hours)

Students must take a minimum of 11-12 semester hours of electives as necessary to reach minimum of 50 total semester hours.
