About

Eve Shapiro, MPH, is the Senior Director of Programs and Evaluation at West Side United, a health collaborative addressing health disparities and social determinants of health on the West Side of Chicago. She has experience in community engagement and community-based participatory research as well as program monitoring and evaluation. Her research has primarily focused on health equity and racial justice. She holds an MPH from Emory University and a BA from the University of Minnesota. Prior to her career in evaluation, she was a community and labor organizer, representing healthcare workers on the West and South sides of Chicago.

Eve has presented on a diverse range of topics including on West Side United, racial equity in the COVID-19 response, community-based evaluation, evaluation training for small CBOs, and how to conduct relational organizing meetings (one-on-ones). She is interested in connecting with students on topics related to racial and economic justice, health justice, health equity, engaging diverse partners in research and evaluation, and mixed-methods research and evaluation.
