Stacey Cunningham Penny (2019 Cohort) is a Senior Project Director at the National Institute for Children’s Health Quality (NICHQ) where she is the Project Director for the National Network of Perinatal Quality Collaborative (NNPQC) and the Chan Zuckerberg, Rare as One Initiative. She is also the founder of the Penny Consulting Group. Throughout her career, Stacey has focused on improving the health and well-being of this country’s women, children and families through her work at national non-profit organizations including the March of Dimes where she was the Vice President of Individual and Corporate Foundation Relations; the National Healthy Start Association as the organization’s Executive Director and chief spokesperson on community-based approaches to improving perinatal health and maternal and child health; the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs (AMCHP) as the Associate Director of Women, Children and Infants; and the National Black Child Development Institute as a Vice President. Stacey also served as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Southern California, Suzanne Dwork-Peck School of Social Work. Stacey's research interests include perinatal health, drivers of severe maternal morbidity and mortality among women of color, and the dynamics of public-private partnerships and their impact on maternal health outcomes.
