About
Cynthia Medina, second year MPH student in the Community Health Sciences division at UIC, is a graduate research assistant with the Collaboratory for Health Justice’s Course Alignment initiative. For the past year, Cynthia has been a research assistant for the Climate Justice Partnerships project within UIC’s sustainability unit, in partnership with Urban Growers Collective, that strives to create equitable pathways to strengthen partnerships and catalyze solutions to climate injustices. After completing her B.S. in kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Cynthia began volunteering for a non-profit organization Healthy Hood to increase food security and access to resources to the Pilsen neighborhood. She is passionate about health equity, food justice, and physical activity promotion in underserved populations.
