About
For almost 25 years, Dr. Michele McCay has worked with public health initiatives that focus on leadership needs to improve maternal and child health outcomes. When scheduling allows, she leads global health work to improve services and systems benefiting women and babies.
Dr. McCay teaches at the UIC School of Public Health in the MPH, MHA ,and DrPH program. A 2022 Golden Apple Award winner, Dr. McCay enjoys teaching as well as exploring both the art and science of teaching.
Dr. McCay currently uses her public health practice and leadership skills as a member of the Illinois Department of Public Health’s Maternal Mortality Review Committee on Violent Deaths and helps provide systemic recommendations for reducing the risk for women’s violent deaths during pregnancy and in the postpartum period.
In her spare time, Dr. McCay spends time traveling with her husband and she likes to bake and craft.
Office Hours: Dr. McCay's office hours are 30-min before and 30-min after our class. If the class is in-person, office hours are held in our classroom. If the class is online, office hours are held on our class zoom link. Please contact Dr. McCay to scheduled an alternate meeting time, if needed.
