Alexandra Kamler is a Senior Program Officer in the Center for Evaluation and Applied Research (CEAR) at The New York Academy of Medicine. Her projects utilize a mixed methods approach and focus on a range of topics including chronic disease prevention, mental health, vaccine hesitation, workforce development, and mentoring which are implemented by hospitals, community-based organizations, and health departments. She also conducts training and technical assistance for community-based organizations and healthcare systems to increase their internal evaluation capacity. Ms. Kamler is practiced in developing and conducting public deliberations, a methodology used for meaningful community engagement to guide decisions that ultimately reflect the values of the impacted community. More recently, Ms. Kamler has provided support to non-profit organizations and advisory boards to facilitate an examination of their own values and positionality and explore ways to support alignment of their values, research and work. Fluent in Spanish, she has worked in reproductive and sexual health in New York City, conducting research, and in Latin America teaching sexual health education. Ms. Kamler holds a BA from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University, and an MPH from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University.
