About
Mervin Dino, MPH (he/him, él) is a public health practitioner, educator, and social justice activist. Mervin grew up in Skokie, IL and is the son of two Filipino immigrants and is bilingual in Spanish.
Mervin is the Director of the Transition Support Program/Programa de Apoyo de Transición at Advocate Aurora Health and leads a multi-hospital safety net program that supports the health care transition from the hospital to the community. Mervin is Co-Chair of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and Co-Chair of the Anti-Racism/Anti-Hate Collaborative at Advocate.
Mervin serves as an Adjunct Faculty member at the Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health at Loyola University Chicago. Mervin is also working on a Doctor of Public Health degree at Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health with a concentration in Health Equity and Social Justice.
Mervin holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Systems Management from Loyola University Chicago and a Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Administration from University of Illinois-Chicago.
In his free time, Mervin is a volunteer at Curie High School on Chicago’s southwest side.
