About

Dr. Amaya is the Health Systems and Equity Lead at Cornell University's Center for Precision Nutrition and Health and a Senior Consultant at the World Health Organization (WHO). She also serves in various leadership roles, including as an Advisory Board Member of the American Public Health Association's (APHA) Center for Climate, Health and Equity, a Governing Councillor for APHA, and the Immediate Past Chair of the APHA Human Rights Forum.

Her research and teaching interests include global health, leadership and management, health systems, health workforce development, human rights, health equity, and health policy analysis. In addition to her various academic and research activities, she has experience providing technical assistance at the local, regional and global health levels, including with the Alachua County Health Department, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Pan American Health Organization, U.S. Agency for International Development, World Bank,  United Nations Volunteer Regional Office for Latin America and The Caribbean, and at WHO, among others.
