When Will Chicago Reach its COVID-19 Peak?

SPH's Dr. Ron Hershow, professor of epidemiology, was interviewed by Chicago Public Radio (WBEZ) on when the City of Chicago can anticipate its peak load of COVID-19 cases.  Hershow cautioned that the limited availability of testing makes any predictions quite variable.  He also commented on what social distancing may look like after the peak as infections begin to decrease in volume.

Until we really know those metrics it’s hard to get a handle on planning on how this may evolve over time. You can fatigue on prevention strategies, you can burn out in them.  To what extent will that happen and how will that influence future events regarding this virus? There’s no way of predicting that exactly.
