Michael Cailas, PhD, associate professor of environmental and occupational health sciences and director of the Public Health Geographic Information Systems online certificate program, was featured in an investigative report by USA Today on undisclosed COVID-19 outbreaks in Illinois. Cailas noted state residents may not be taking precautionary steps due to lack of information on specific outbreaks.
