SPH Alum to Lead the Mile Square Health Center

Karriem Watson, DHSc, MS, MPH ’10, and former SPH research assistant professor, has been named the new executive director of UI Health Mile Square Health Center.
Watson comes from immediate experience as the Chief Engagement Officer for The All of Us Research Program at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Prior to this role with the NIH, Watson spent over 15 years as a community-engaged research scientist with the Mile Square Health Center FQHC network and the Chicagoland area. Previously, he was the Associate Executive Director at Mile Square, while also serving as the associate director of community outreach and engagement for the University of Illinois Cancer Center and as a research assistant professor in the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) School of Public Health.
Watson will lead UI Health’s Federally Qualified Health Center network of clinics that serve communities across Chicago and Rockford. Read the full announcement at https://lnkd.in/gr_uEFQy
