Protecting Food Vendors in the Pandemic

SPH students and staff with the UIC Center for Healthy Work's Greater Lawndale Healthy Work Project (GLHWP) were interviewed by LaRaza, a Spanish-language Chicago newspaper.  Dolores Castañeda, PhD in Community Health Sciences student and Sylvia Gonzalez, GLHWP program manager, described a poster project launched by the Center to strengthen safe working conditions for food vendors in Little Village.

We wanted to spread another message, more of unity. and community, and that is why we chose those messages that say: ‘Your health is connected to mine.’
