Outpatient Plans for Mercy Hospital Rejected

The Chicago-based Hyde Park Herald covered a state hearing on a proposal to close Mercy Hospital in Bronzeville and replace it with an outpatient clinic.  SPH's Linda Rae Murray, MD, MPH '80, adjunct assistant professor of health policy and administration, is also a member of the state's Health Facilities and Services Review Board that rejected the proposal.

You’re just talking about urgent care. It’s going to be small staff, just a little larger than the typical Walgreens walk-in clinic.  I just don’t understand how you think this materially improves care.
