Faculty Advises on Hybrid School Plan

My Suburban Life profiled the efforts of Dr. Mark Dworkin, professor of epidemiology, working with Glen Ellyn School District 41 to analyze mass testing of the district's schoolchildren to build a plan for launching hybrid learning.

Dr. Mark Dworkin, an epidemiologist with the UIC School of Public Health, which the district is consulting with, recommended that it was safe to reopen schools if at least 50 percent of those who signed up for screening returned their samples, and combined positives based on saliva testing and cases reported to nurses over Thanksgiving break were 3 percent or less across the district.
