Analyzing January Infection Totals

SPH's Mark Dworkin, MD, professor of epidemiology, was quoted in The Wall Street Journal on the January surge in COVID-19 infections in the United States.  He noted until vaccinations ramp up, the country figures to experience further peaks and valleys in infection totals.

I don’t think we can interpret the trend or predict its next move with any confidence because on the one hand we have expanding vaccine rollout but on the other we expect a more infectious strain to become more common.
