In observance of World Health Day, please join the UIC SPH Global Health Program for a lunch and panel session in conjunction with the launch of the weeklong photography exhibit on display at SPH called The Power of Faces: A Look at the Global Refugee Crisis as part of the UIC Global Health Colloquium. The event will include a lunch and panel session with leaders whose work focuses on the health of refugees and migrants. This event is free and all are welcome.
The Power of Faces show displaced people with their inherent beauty, courage, dignity, and grace. Importantly, The Power of Faces also captures the on-the-ground, oftentimes harsh reality that refugees face every day in refugee camps across Greece, Bangladesh, Mexico, and the Ukraine border. The exhibit was created by husband-and-wife photographers Daniel Farber Huang and Theresa Menders.
The UIC Global Health Colloquium is a lecture series co-sponsored by the School of Public Health, Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Applied Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Dentistry, and Social Work.
