The Collaboratory for Health Justice is partnering with Chicago Mahogany, LLC to provide students with an opportunity to tour the community of North Lawndale. North Lawndale is one of the 77 community areas in Chicago located on the city's West Side known for its rich cultural heritage and ongoing urban renewal initiatives.

The tour will be guided by Chicago’s renowned urban historian Shermann “Dilla” Thomas who has amassed wide-spread recognition for his powerful use of storytelling to preserve and disseminate the rich history and culture of Chicago.

This event is limited to 48 spots and students are invited on a first come, first served basis. Please RSVP in advance.

Pick up and drop off is at the UIC School of Public Health.
