Fall Commencement Information

There are two commencement ceremonies offered by the campus in the fall, one for graduate students and one for undergraduate students. Please be sure to note the correct time for the ceremony that applies to you. Students wishing to participate in a fall ceremony must review the information below as well as that on the campus commencement page, which contains the most detailed and up-to-date information.

As these events are managed by the campus, SPH cannot offer exceptions or late additions to attend the ceremony if you miss the deadlines.  For more information about the Fall Commencement ceremonies, contact commencement@uic.edu.

Eligibility to participate in the Fall Commencement ceremony

To determine your eligibility, please contact the academic coordinator for your division. Summer and Fall graduates are only eligible to participate in the Fall Commencement ceremonies. Students who have an issue attending their fall ceremony may be allowed to participate in the spring commencement ceremony but must request an exception via email by contacting Linda Johnson at Ljohnson@uic.edu. In addition, you must RSVP for the ceremony. See the box below to complete your RSVP.

  • Potential Fall 2019 graduates

    Students who have filed an intent to graduate application for Fall 2019 and have been cleared by their academic division to participate.  Make sure to submit your RSVP at the box below.

    Summer and Fall 2019 graduates must RSVP using the box below to participate in the Fall Commencement ceremonies.

Only graduates who have registered may participate in the ceremonies.  Graduates must RSVP online no later than 3:00 p.m. on December 2, 2019.

Regalia

Caps & gowns are still available for pre-ordering. Students should pre-order their regalia online through Jostens before Tuesday, October 22, 2019.

Pre-ordered regalia will be available for pick-up on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 during the Alumni Association’s Grad Finale event in the UIC Bookstore. If a student misses the pre-order deadline, graduation attire will be available for purchase in the UIC Bookstore starting that day.

Graduates will be charged an additional $15.00 fee if cap and gown is not pre-ordered.

Seating and Tickets

Due to limited space, tickets are required for guests attending the ceremony. Graduate Students will receive 8 complimentary tickets.  Undergraduates will receive 5 complimentary tickets, as more students will be participating in the ceremony making less tickets available per graduate.
