Although the Student Leadership and Civic Engagement team is working remotely, there are still ways for all of us to get involved, volunteer, and make an impact during COVID-19. Linked below are some resources and opportunities to serve during this time.
UI Health Vaccinations Heading link
We are coordinating student volunteers for the COVID vaccination events that are currently taking place at UI Health. We are starting to staff the clinic that will take place at the Credit Union One Arena. This site will be for UI Health patients and those in Tier 1B and opens February 1.
We have a need for non-clinical students who might be interested in volunteering their time to assist with patient check in, registration, flow and general questions.
As of now, the site will run from 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Everyone who signs up will be provided with training and information prior to their arrival!

Jesse Brown VA Vaccinations Heading link
Jesse Brown VA is looking for flow monitors to greet and direct/escort veterans to check-in with the COVID-19 vaccine center, assist with order and maintain a smooth flow of the line, and answering general questions.
We are looking for individuals to have the ability to volunteer for a minimum of four hours one day per week consistently for at least four months. The maximum will be eight hours in one day. The opportunity to volunteer are Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., with the occasional Saturday clinic. The position does require a decent amount of standing and walking.
As occasional volunteers we will have them sign-in every time they come in to volunteer. Volunteers park for free at a nearby indoor parking structure by the facility. We also provide volunteers who come in for 4hrs or more with a meal ticket that can be used at our facility.
