About

Dr. Victory Osezua works to promote equity and inclusion through research, teaching, and advocacy. Her research employs mixed-method research to address the impact of structural racism on health outcomes and access to healthcare among vulnerable populations (e.g., Black youth, African refugees and immigrants, and People living with/at risk for HIV).

She is dedicated to teaching and supporting students, collaborating with them to achieve a better understanding of public health principles and systemic issues. Through community partnership, Dr. Osezua addresses the intersection of structural racism, post-colonialism, and the wellbeing of marginalized communities. She has undertaken extensive global health research initiatives in Vietnam and Ghana, collaborating with local communities and organizations to improve wellbeing. She is also an independent public health consultant conducting community-based evaluation and research for non-profit organizations nationwide.

She is currently an Assistant Professor of public health at Gwynedd Mercy University. She worked as a Johnson and Johnson Research and Development Behavioral Scientist as well as a program coordinator and researcher at the University of Louisville School of Public Health and with the Volunteers of America Mid-States in Louisville doing HIV prevention. Before she relocated to the US, Victory served on several projects with the United Nations Millennium Developmental Goals in Nigeria.

Dr. Osezua received her Master of Public Health degree and Ph.D. in Public Health in Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences from the University of Louisville, Kentucky.
