About
Dr. Go is Research Associate Professor and is an Attending Physician at John H. Stroger Cook County Hospital. He is a board-certified physician in Pulmonary Disease, Critical Care Medicine, and Internal Medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois, performed his residency at the University of Texas at Southwestern Medical Center, and his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Northwestern University.
His research interest is in occupational lung disease, particularly those affecting mineral dust exposed workers. Dr. Go has been a Co-Investigator on multiple research and clinical grants related to coal mine dust lung disease, including Black Lung Clinics Program and the Black Lung Center of Excellence grants funded by the Health Resources Services Administration. He has also worked with agencies of the United States government in areas of mining-related health issues including the Mining Safety Health Administration and the US Department of Labor, Division of Coal Mine Workers Compensation. Dr. Go has worked internationally on projects with the Australian state of Queensland through the Department of Natural Resources & Mines and Energy (DNRME) to evaluate public health programs for mineral dust-exposed workers and to design, develop and deliver medical training courses for Australian physicians.
