About
Rachel is an Applied Practice Experience student working with the CACHET Community Engagement Core. She is in her final year as a joint degree MPH/MBA student in Community Health Sciences and Business Analytics at UIC. Rachel has over seven years of community organizing experience focusing on the intersecting areas of the social determinants of health, including access to high quality child care, early childhood, and K-12 education; economic justice; policies and protections for immigrant families; and community engagement. Since 2019, she has worked for the Illinois Department of Public Health as an infectious disease epidemiology graduate assistant on enteric outbreak investigations and surveillance, in addition to supporting their ongoing COVID-19 response activities and utilizing qualitative methods to assist in their investigative research on the vaping outbreak in 2019.
