Analysis: Midwest Surge Slows

Dr. Mark Dworkin, professor of epidemiology, was interviewed by the Wall Street Journal on a period of decline of COVID cases in the Midwest.  He noted surges are primarily driven by decisions of the general public.

We understand enough about COVID to know that whether it rises or falls in the coming weeks has to do with population compliance with the basic control measures. There is no magic to predicting whether COVID rises or falls.
