Alexis Grant

Alexis Grant is a 4th year, PhD candidate in Community Health Sciences at the UIC School of Public Health. She is a student, researcher, teacher, and organizer, and these paths cross often through her various roles at UIC. She works as a community engagement fellow for the Collaboratory for Health Justice, as she enjoys creating best practice materials for community-engaged research. She describes her research interests as "meta-public health" and is interested in the processes of cross-sector collaboration in the public health system, particularly for multi-level community interventions. She is also passionate about building evidence and resources for community-led health interventions. Alexis holds a master’s degree in Behavioral and Social Health Sciences from Brown University and bachelors degrees in English and Psychology from Howard University. After she completes her degree at UIC she plans to become a professor and continue her research, teaching, and advocacy.
