About
McKinley Anderson is pursuing her Master of Public Health with a Community Health Sciences concentration at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She joined as a Graduate Research Assistant for the Community Based Contact Tracing Initiative in Fall 2021. McKinley spent a gap year serving with AmeriCorps as a Homeless Prevention Case Manager in rural Colorado. Here she witnessed inequities due to the COVID-19 pandemic which increased her desire to pursue public health. McKinley received her BA at Calvin University in Sociology and Psychology. At Calvin, she was a Research Assistant at the Center for Social Research where she assisted with research project development, execution, and data analysis. Her public health interests include the social and structural determinants of health, and the intersection of gender/sexuality and health.
