ABC 7 Chicago News interviewed SPH's Karriem Watson, PhD, MPH in Community Health Sciences '10 and a research assistant professor of community health sciences, on the upcoming roll-out of COVID-19 vaccines. Watson stressed that outreach is needed to communities of color to overcome past abuses and health disparities.

The conversation we want to have is addressing a lot of the medical mistrust, and addressing a lot of the myths and misperceptions about vaccine. Research has often been done to us and not done for us, and that sometimes is embedded in our memory.
