The School of Public Health is housed in two locations on the University of Illinois at Chicago campus. SPHPI is the primary location, with SPHW housing the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences. Instructions on how to reach SPHPI and SPHW via car or public transit are located below.

Directions via Chicago Transit Authority (CTA):

By Train – To reach the School of Public Health via the CTA train system, take the Pink Line “El” to the Polk stop. The Pink Line connects the campus with downtown, O’Hare International Airport, northwest and west side neighborhoods of Chicago, and the western suburbs of Oak Park, Forest Park, and Cicero.
By Bus – CTA bus lines within walking distance to the School of Public Health include the 7-Harrison, 9-Ashland, X9-Ashland Express, 12-Roosevelt, 38-Ogden/Taylor, or50-Damen.

Metra trains arrive at one of four transportation hubs in Chicago:
1) Ogilvie Transportation Center (Madison St. and Canal St.)
2) Union Station (Canal St. between Adams & Jackson Blvd.)
3) Millennium Station (Michigan Ave. between South Water & Randolph St.)
4) LaSalle Street Station (414 S. LaSalle St.)For trains arriving at Ogilvie Transportation Center:
- By Bus – Board the 38-Ogden/Taylor CTA bus on Clinton St. Exit the bus at Ashland Ave. and Taylor St. SPHPI is located on the southwest corner of Ashland and Taylor.
- By Train – Walk 1 ½ blocks north on Clinton St. towards the elevated train tracks. Enter the station on the north side indicating the Pink Line towards 54/Cermak. Exit the train at Polk and walk south on Paulina St. to Taylor St. SPHPI is east on Taylor, on the southwest corner of Ashland and Taylor.
For trains arriving at Union Station:
- By Bus – Board the 38-Ogden/Taylor CTA bus on Clinton St. Exit the bus at Ashland Ave. and Taylor St. SPHPI is located on the southwest corner of Ashland and Taylor. You may also take the 7-Harrison CTA bus and exit at the Pink Line Polk station. Walk south on Paulina St. to Taylor St. SPHPI is east on Taylor, on the southwest corner of Ashland and Taylor.
- By Train – Walk 4 ½ blocks east on Jackson St. to Wells. Enter the Quincy train station on the east side indicating the Pink Line towards 54/Cermak. Exit the train at Polk and walk south on Paulina St. to Taylor St. SPHPI is east on Taylor, on the southwest corner of Ashland and Taylor.
For trains arriving at Millennium Station:
- By Train – Walk 1 block west on Randolph St. to Wabash Ave. Enter the Randolph train station on the west side indicating the Pink Line towards 54/Cermak. Exit the train at Polk and walk south on Paulina St. to Taylor St. SPHPI is east on Taylor, on the southwest corner of Ashland and Taylor.
For trains arriving at LaSalle Street Station:
- By Bus – Walk north to Jackson St. and board the 7-Harrison CTA bus. Exit the bus at the Pink Line Polk station. Walk south on Paulina St. to Taylor St. SPHPI is east on Taylor, on the southwest corner of Ashland and Taylor.
- By Train – Walk 1 block east on Van Buren St. Enter the LaSalle train station on the north side indicating the Pink Line towards 54/Cermak. Exit the train at Polk and walk south on Paulina St. to Taylor St. SPHPI is east on Taylor, on the southwest corner of Ashland and Taylor.

Driving Directions:
From the North:
- SPHPI – Take the Kennedy Expressway (I-90/94) to the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) westbound and keep to the right; take the second exit from the Eisenhower Expressway, which is Ashland Ave; take Ashland Ave. south to Taylor St.; SPHPI is on the southwest corner of Ashland and Taylor.
- SPHW – Follow the instructions above, but continue going west on Taylor St. until you reach 2121 W. Taylor.
From the West:
- SPHPI – Take the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) to the Ashland Ave. exit; take Ashland Ave. south to Taylor St.; SPHPI is on the southwest corner of Ashland and Taylor.
- SPHW – Follow the instructions above, but continue going west on Taylor St. until you reach 2121 W. Taylor.
From the East:
- SPHPI – Take Roosevelt Rd. west to Ashland Ave.; go north on Ashland Ave. to Taylor St.; SPHPI is on the southwest corner of Ashland and Taylor.
- SPHW – Follow the instructions above, but continue going west on Taylor St. until you reach 2121 W. Taylor.
From the South:
- SPHPI – Take the Dan Ryan Expressway (I-90/94) and exit on Roosevelt Rd. (1200 south); go west on Roosevelt Rd. to Ashland Ave.; go north on Ashland Ave. to Taylor St.; SPHPI is on the southwest corner of Ashland and Taylor.
- SPHW – Follow the instructions above, but continue going west on Taylor St. until you reach 2121 W. Taylor.

Parking:
- SPHPI – parking is available in the Paulina Street Parking Structure across Taylor St. between Paulina St. and Marshfield Ave. (enter on Paulina). Parking rates are based on number of hours parked.
- SPHW – parking is available at the Juvenile Courts Parking Structure on Hamilton Street (turn left off Taylor just west of SPH-W) at $2.00 per day.
