Master of Healthcare Administration
Why did you choose to attend UIC SPH?
It has the ultimate combination of faculty, programs, and location; how could I choose anywhere else?
How would you characterize student life at UIC SPH?
Constant evolution of opportunities and exciting cultural events that never leaves a longing for something to do!
What do you love about living and learning in Chicago?
Chicago has a long and storied history, it has gone through many changes over the years and nearly every nook and cranny has a myriad of tales to tell. The experience does not stop in the classroom.
What kinds of activities are you involved with on campus and/or in the community?
I am involved in student governance with the Public Health Student Association (PHSA), the Association of Future Healthcare Administrators (AFHA), and have previously served on the School of Public Health Committee on Educational Programs. I also Chair the APHA-HA Membership Committee.
Have you completed a field practicum or preceptorship?
I worked at Cook County Health and Hospital System for the Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Michael Ayres. I had several rotations and finished under Mr. Randall Mark, Director of Inter-Governmental Affairs. County is an amazing place to see, feel, and learn a lot about life and death in Chicago, and what it means to serve the public for the greater good.
