How would you characterize student life at UIC SPH?
Student life at UIC SPH is what you make of it. You have to get involved and get to know the people that are in your classes. When you do these things it makes the transition either from undergrad to grad or back to school a lot easier. Once you have your support system formed it's easier to conquer life here at UIC!
What do you love about living and learning in Chicago?
I love the city of Chicago itself. There is always something to do in the city so you are never bored. I love learning in Chicago because there are so many organization headquarters and regional offices located here where you can network and learn more about public health.
What kinds of activities are you involved with on campus and/or in the community?
I am the Secretary for the Minority Students for the Advance of Public Health (MSAPH) student organization. I’m also serving on the planning committee for the second year in a row for the Minority Health in the Midwest Conference. This year I am Co-Chair of the Registration Committee.
