Anti-Semitic Acts at UIC

We are saddened that UIC has appeared in the news recently not because of the stellar contributions and achievements of our diverse and talented faculty, students and staff, but rather because of offensive anti-Semitic posters found on campus. As campus leadership recently highlighted, “Much of the vitality of our campus is because of the diversity of thought and perspectives that exist here. The same laws that allow for that vitality also allow for speech that can be offensive and create discomfort and even fear.”

We at the School of Public Health remain committed to the free exchange of diverse ideas and perspectives, but we condemn bigotry and hatred in the strongest possible terms. We reaffirm our community’s core values of inclusivity, mutual tolerance, respect, and justice, and stand united in declaring that “Hate has no home here.”
