DrPH Research

Public health research needs to move beyond narrowly focused inquiry into disease patterns and trends, individual behaviors, and intervention effectiveness under artificially controlled settings into broader issues of real -world implementation, policy development, change management, and organizational behavior and structure at the agency and systems level.  To build the evidence base of public health practice necessary to meet today's challenges, the organization, delivery and financing of public health services requires as much research attention as has been given the discovery of basic knowledge about diseases, populations, and interventions. The UIC DrPH curriculum is designed to equip leaders to play a key role in contributing to the evidence base of public health practice.
