Degrees
With a number of degree and certificate options, the Division of Health Policy and Administration (HPA) helps a diverse student body—from aspiring researchers to veteran administrators, analysts, and physicians—further their careers in public health. Our programs equip students with the research, evaluative, and leadership tools necessary to effect health policy and programming at local, national, and global levels.
The HPA division offers four primary focus areas in which students can earn their degrees and certificates:
- MHA (Masters of Healthcare Administration)
- MPH (Masters of Public Health)
- MS (Masters of Science)
- MS in CTS (Masters of Science in Clinical and Translational Science)
- PhD (Doctor of Philosophy)
While pursuing these degree options, students admitted to HPA may choose a generalist track, or focus their studies in any of the following concentrations and foci:
- Health Services and Policy Research (MS and PhD students only)
- Public Health Informatics (MPH online students only)
- Global Health Intiative
- Women’s Health
- Women’s Studies
In an increasingly specialized world, HPA recognizes the need for interdisciplinary study. We offer unique joint degrees, cooperating with various schools at UIC, the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign, and the Illinois Institute of Technology.
