Basic Community Public Health Practice Certificate

The Basic Community Public Health Practice Campus Certificate (Basic CPHP) targets individuals with a bachelor's degree who are currently working in community, public health or other related fields and whose current or future position requires skills in applying a breadth of knowledge and expertise in assessing and addressing health problems in the community.

This certificate program in community health is offered entirely online and furthers the university's commitment to training public health professionals by offering courses to public health practitioners and students in other health professions who are not able to pursue a graduate public health degree.

Advanced Community Public Health Practice Certificate

The Advanced Community Public Health Practice Campus Certificate (Advanced CPHP) targets individuals with a bachelor's degree who are currently working in community, public health, or other related fields and whose current or future position requires advanced skills in applying advanced knowledge and expertise in assessing and addressing health problems in the community.

Public Health Emergency Preparedness Certificate

The School of Public Health offers a Certificate in Public Health Emergency Preparedness to qualified professionals in a completely online format. This certificate program builds skills and competency in preparing for and responding to public health emergencies. The Public Health Emergency Preparedness Certificate is designed to serve specific learner needs, targeting current public health workers.
 
Admission to the program requires documentation of a previous baccalaureate degree. Completion of the program requires completion of all 4 courses with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Course credits cannot be transferred in from other institutions. CHSC 400 may be waived for individuals with a previous master’s in public health (MPH) degree. The credits associated with this certificate can be used toward the MPH degree after admission into that degree program. Successful completion of the certificate program does not, however, guarantee admission into the MPH degree program.

Public Health Practice Campus Certificate at Rockford

The Public Health Practice Campus Certificate at Rockford provides a public health knowledge base targeting local community, health, and public health professionals as well as health professions students enrolled at the College of Medicine campus in Rockford. The certificate is a 16 hour program of study consisting of five graduate level courses comprising the fundamental concepts essential to public health practice.

Courses will be offered in-person on the Rockford campus and on-line. Certificate coursework may be transferable to a degree program within the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health or to other schools or programs of public health.
