Continuous Planning Process Update

SUMMARY

The UIC School of Public Health is presently in the process of updating its Strategic Plan. The previous Strategic Plan was conducted during 2004-2005. As a result of that process, the current Mission of the School of Public Health is as follows:

The UIC School of Public Health is dedicated to excellence in protecting and improving the health and well-being of the people of the metropolitan Chicago area, the State of Illinois, and the nation, and of others throughout the world. The School achieves this mission by: educating scientists, professionals and the public; conducting research to develop solutions to public health problems; providing public health service; and formulating public health policy.

As part of the current Strategic Plan updating process, the following Vision Statement has been vetted with faculty and other stakeholders:

A leader among academic institutions improving public health through engaged partnerships in teaching & learning, research, service and practice.
